Information
On Saturday morning, we
will meet in the Kirby Center on the campus of the
University of Minnesota (Duluth). Parking is available all
around campus near the Kirby Center. We
will start the day by reviewing the
judging procedures,
judging criteria and
answering your judging questions. You will receive
you judging assignment as you register. The project
judging will start at 9:00 a.m. and finish at about
noon. You will probably want to spend some time after
judging, evaluating the group you judged with your team
and making the
first, second, and third place assignments, catagory
awards, and some of you will judge the specials awards.
Your role as a judge will be to observe the student
presentations of their project and ask them
questions. These questions should assist you in your
evaluation of the project. You will also review the
poster display for
clarity, neatness and presentation . You will work
as a member of a team consisting of new and experienced
judges. We have tried to assign teams with respect to
the priority of your category selections. Please
remember that we want this to be a positive experience
for the students. Thus, keep in mind that these young
people are middle and high school students and not
colleagues at a professional meeting. You may want to
take notes during the presentations so bring along a
clipboard or something to write on as you judge the
projects.
